Remember this post I did a while back about the art in my daughter's room? Well...after procrastinating for a good two weeks, I finally got down to doing it yesterday.
This is what the bare wall looked like. It is a beautiful duck's egg blue color ....much brighter than it appears in the images.
I started by making a template on the wall where the actual frames would go. I should have used craft /brown paper but since I didn't have any at home, I used newspaper instead. Not the best thing to do as the ink from the print blackens the fingers and you end up with some unsightly finger-marks on the wall. But other than that, it worked just fine. After trying out a few permutations and combinations..this is the layout that I decided to stick with....
Finally, with a little help from the husband I hung all the art wherever intended...I also added the wooden alphabets ( my children's initials ) in between and....
........Voila....... here is the fruit of my labour!!
I am very pleased with the result and can't wait to see the look on my daughter's face when she comes back from her 2-day camping trip tomorrow !!
I am thinking of putting a narrow console ( in a bright color perhaps? ) under the art to sort of anchor it....or should I leave it just like that ...what do you recommend??
Hope to show you the rest of the room (with daytime shots) very soon!!

B'tiful..go for a console.
Interesting! Console, yes.
Thanks Salokya and Abhilasha...I also think console would work best..but i'll have to find something very narrow( 12"-15" max)!
Looks great Meenal - well done!
