BEFORE:
Shiny dark polish, a curly swirly pattern in a most depressing shade of green....in one word- BLAH ( I know it's not really a word..but you get my point)...
THE INSPIRATION:

AFTER:
The original polish was scraped off...the wood sanded and painted white...then sanded again to give a distressed look and sealed. Since antiqued leather was not readily available, moreover I wasn't too keen on spending too much money on the chair makeover... I settled for the velvet fabric..not too different from the leather...
As there wasn't enough margin in the wood frame, we couldn't put a nailhead trim and used a corded satin ribbon as trim instead..
I think it turned out pretty neat..what do you think??

Viera, Sherry- thanks!! xx meenal
Love it. But then I have rather a soft spot for velvet, and I am also chuffed when people breathe new life into old things. You have done exactly that!
thanks virginia!! xx meenal
I think that's a fantastic transformation! I love the velvet.
