Today I came across the work of Spanish interior designer Nacho Polo while looking for some black & white interior inspiration. 

This particular project entailed restoring the historical memory of an early 19th century home in Madrid. The end product is truly swoon-worthy... with the old glory restored by uncovering and retaining the old architectural details and new life infused through a clever and artistic amalgamation of classic and modern design elements...

In all the rooms there is a beautiful juxtaposition of modern furniture with the traditional architectural details like the elaborate crown molding. The effect is very striking yet harmonious...

Such a gorgeous collection of chandeliers...

 If a black & white palette is too stark or daunting for you, experimenting with the look in a small space, a power room for instance, may be the best way to go...

A lot of neutral key pieces ( mainly black & white), vintage finds, a nod to her Moroccan heritage ( I spotted a Beni Ourain rug, a moroccan wedding blanket & a bone inlay chest )  and a very obvious love for all things 'brass'.

White on white + Art walls...

Two rooms..with their all-white color schemes paired with eclectic art walls...and touches of pink...So similar yet distinct...Though neither is my natural style..I am drawn to both...

Double duty... and then some...

How fabulous are these stoneware Austin's Flora measuring cups from anthropologie to add a little eclectic touch to your kitchen...

When not measuring the ingredients for cooking..they would work just as well as tea cups or for soup too!! And when doing nothing... they would still look pretty all lined up on a shelf. I would snag them in a second if they were to come out in a blue and white combination!

Today I'm loving...

This dining room in a house in Odense (Denmark)..almost spartan..yet so cheerful. Modern or minimalistic aren't really the terms I would use for my style of decorating..but I sure am digging this room!!

Those huge windows..real high ceiling..and the fun art atop an IKEA credenza..not to forget the giraffe surveying the outdoors..super cute...

The wall to wall sliding doors open out to an incredible terrace and the orchard beyond ...

How funky are those pendant lights over the table!!

This is the kind of modern eclectic look that I could live with...very happily!!
